to Benefit Breast Cancer Charity

SONGS FOR THE CAUSE

-- a concert featuring North Jersey’s top songwriting talent to raise awareness and funds for breast cancer research, as well as showcase some of the area’s best in new music.  The show benefited the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation – North Jersey Affiliate. The Komen Foundation (http://www.njakomen.org) is now in its 22nd year, and they remain dedicated in their fight to advance breast cancer research, education, screening and treatment.

SONGS FOR THE CAUSE 2004  featured eight of the finest musicians from the tri-state area performing a 4-hour live acoustic show. The event took place at The Stanhope House in Stanhope, NJ. Featured artists were: Todd Wolfe, Rick Norman, Deena Miller, Joe McKee, Jodelle, Patrick Fleming, Deb Ferrara, Laura Berman.  Proceeds from the event went directly to the Komen Breast Cancer Foundation, North Jersey Affiliate. Audience members received a commemorative program and CD sampler, featuring songs by each artist with their entrance donation.  Our generous sponsors donated many wonderful items for the raffle and  auction.

Dear Friends, Thank you all for such a tremendous response to Songs For The Cause 2004. We sold out for the second year and surpassed last year's totals, grossing over $11,000.00 in sponsor ads, ticket sales and donated items (including the CDs we gave out at the door). At this point our cash donation to the Komen Foundation is approximately $9600.00 (but we're still receiving checks in the mail, so that number will very likely go up). The BB King guitar auction fetched $800.00.

I need to once more thank all the incredibly talented artists on the bill this year... Todd Wolfe, Rick Norman, Deena Miller, Joe McKee, Jodelle, Patrick Fleming and Laura Berman...and of course - thank you to the supporting musicians who came out to help us... Kathy, Jacquie, Anthony, John, Jerry, Kristin, John, Joey, Peter, Al, Brian, Nicole, Alan, Dave, Paul, Craig (that's quite a mouthful!) ... you all were fantastic!!! (And thanks again for the Grammy, you guys!! Yas made me cry!)
